One more game sits between The Shakers and promotion from the Northern Premier League West, with a trip to 12th placed Atherton Collieries closing out the season.

After a superb 4-1 in front of 7,000 fans last Saturday, Anthony Johnson’s side have the chance to round off this years campaign in style this weekend.

We currently sit at the top of the league table, two points ahead of Avro FC, with a goal difference of +7.

We last faced Atherton Collieries in November, a game that resulted in a 0-0 draw.

Atherton Collieries would like to remind supporters the match is sold out, and admission will be admitted only to those with physical or digital tickets for the game. Digital away tickets will be admitted through the first two turnstiles. You can read more here.

In Opposition – Atherton Collieries

Established by miners from pits in Atherton, the club was founded in 1916 with the aim of raising money for the war effort.

Following the war, the club joined the Bolton Combination, winning it ten times between 1919 and 1965.

Due to league reorganisation in 2018, the Colls were placed into Division one west, winning the title that season.

In 2024, they were relegated to the Division One West, where they have remained since.
