Bury FC can confirm that goalkeeper Russ Saunders will be leaving the club.
Russ joined the Shakers in October 2024 as emergency cover for Mitch Allen. What began as a short-term arrangement quickly saw Russ become a valued member of the squad and goalkeeping group.
During his time at Gigg Lane, Russ made five first-team appearances and served as an excellent deputy to Allen.
Off the pitch, he played an important role in mentoring Mitch and the club’s younger goalkeepers, bringing experience, professionalism and support to the group.
Everyone at Bury FC would like to thank Russ for his contribution to the club and wish him all the very best for the future.
